I recently had a short chat with Chris (my supervisor) and Mike (a post-doctoral fellow in our lab), and I have been reminded of important lessons in grad school from those chats.
From Chris: The need to focus on what’s essential, important and necessary, and to eliminate cruft from my graduate school experience.
From Mike: The need to communicate clearly, concisely and consistently in expressing my ideas.
Good lessons learned. Mike, like Ying-Ja and Robin, have been great mentors (albeit Robin was my only “official” mentor) for me. It’s a great time to be in this lab!
